On 10/1/2009 the Great Hill Hose Company responded to a call for a vehicle in the Housatonic River. The vehicle was traveling down Route 188, crossed Route 34 and plunged into the river. The occupant was not injured and was out of the vehicle upon arrival of the fire department.
